Hard Drive Is Active

Apple airport yellow light indicates hard drive activity on some PCs. The yellow light may blink in split-second intervals when the hard drive is in use, while the prolonged blinking means that the PC is constantly requesting information stored on the hard drive. The blinking yellow light can be useful in diagnosing the PC’s problems: if the PC slows down or locks up, a blinking yellow activity means the system is working on something and has not crashed. Check the airport utility as well, if it is working fine. That could be one of the reasons behind this issue as well.

 System Is In Hibernation Or Sleep Mode

 Some of the PCs use a stagnant or airport express flashing yellow to indicate when the PC has entered sleep or hibernation mode. The yellow light means that the PC is in power-saving mode and may show off when it is still on. You need to note that pulling the plug on a PC during sleep or hibernation mode can harm the systems. The difference between the sleep and hibernation mode power states is that the RAM holds the desktop state in sleep mode, whereas the desktop state is saved on the hard drive in hibernation mode.

To resolve the airport blinking yellow problem, consider diagnosing the router following the steps given below:

●  AirPort Utility 5.2 or the later versions opens automatically if your Wi-Fi base station needs your attention. You may also choose to launch AirPort Utility at any time. Do not use any version of AirPort Utility earlier than the 5.0 version.

●     In the AirPort Utility window, you need to locate your Wi-Fi base station and then double-click on it to open the Summary window.

●      If you have more than one Wi-Fi base station, then double-click on the icon for the Wi-Fi base station that has the amber circle given next to it.
